Butler’s Farmhouse Cheeses, Inglewhite

Famous for the pioneering the phenomenally popular Blacksticks Blue, this family-run dairy is branching out into more exotic products.

Butler’s Farmhouse Cheeses have been making cheese for four generations and just like the tangy veins that permeate their best-selling Blacksticks Blue, family values continue to run through the business.

Creamy and pungent, with the vibrant ochre of the cheese offering a stark contrast to the blue veins and dark, almost ashen crust, Blacksticks Blue has become a nationwide taste sensation.

With Jean Butler continuing to inspire the development of the business, head cheese maker Tim Fisher is adding distinctive new products to the Butler’s range.

At this year’s Nantwich International Cheese Show, TV chef James Martin awarded Butler’s Trotter Hill traditional Lancashire the coveted Cheese Lovers Trophy while Inglewhite Sweet & Nutty Goat’s Cheese took the award for Best Modern British Cheese.

“Just like a parent, we can’t choose a favourite, as each of our cheeses has unique characteristics and each is delicious in its own way,” said Tim. “We recommend customers try them all!”
