Reporting to the Duty Manager on shift, you will be responsible for serving customers using a friendly, efficient and professional manner whilst showing confident product knowledge and good communication skills in order to ensure we deliver on our Company values and the guests receive an extraordinary experience every time.

Using your butchery experience you will continue to develop fresh poultry and meat sales through maintaining high standards and by actively developing trade with new and existing customers.
You will demonstrate in-depth product knowledge to join our busy butchery team. You will already have great butchery skills. You will need to be flexible, hardworking and enjoy working as part of a team.
Responsibilities will include:

  • Experience in the cutting and preparation of fresh meat
  • Using your butchery skills to prepare meat to customer requirements – Beef, Lamb, Poultry
  • Preparing and packing customer orders according to their specifications
  • Ensuring that all meat supplied is of the highest quality and meets customers’ expectations and H&S requirements
  • Boning and trimming meat for display, wholesale and catering orders. Ensuring branch meat displays are of a high standard including layout, fill levels and cleanliness
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment at all times.
  • Provide excellent customer service and proactively seek and respond to requests for additional lines and cuts of meat
  • Build and develop excellent customer relationships to encourage regular spend

Experience required:

Must have previously worked as a butcher.

  • Aware of Food hygiene standards & principals and able to work to them.
  • Ensuring hygiene standards are adhered to at all times
  • Able to prepare cuts according to customers’ requirements.
  • Confident knife skills and with the use of butchers machinery (Band-saw, Mince Machine)
  • Minimising any unnecessary waste and making the most out of each cut of meat
  • Managing the meat and poultry waste
  • Must be able to work as part of a team.

You will be responsible for the maintaining of the butcher’s counter, whether this be fridges, products or maintenance such as labelling, date checks and pricing.

You will be responsible for the cleanliness of the butcher’s counter ensuring stock is neat, tidy and presentable.
