Imagine a full month dedicated to beer…that’s exactly what we are bringing to you this October, for our unmissable OctoBEERfest!
Join us for a fun packed celebration of world beer, with something happening almost every day throughout the month!
See below for details and dates of all our events.
MC Pete Otway presents Dominic Woodward, Adam Staunton and Tudur Owen.
After taking a short break for the Summer, we are very excited to be working with Manchester’s Frog and Bucket Comedy Club to bring you another night of fantastic comedy this October!
Tickets start from just £12.50 per person.
Every week we introduce 24 new beers to the bar. We hate to see good beer go to waste, so we invite you to come and help us Drink It Dry on Monday and Tuesdays, where you will have the chance to sample six beers for half price. Plus there's half price burgers and half price accommodation throughout October too!
From remarkable facts about Lancashire to current affairs, pop music, the tricky picture round and of course beer trivia, a trip to the Beer Hall pub quiz is the perfect opportunity for you and your mates to test your know-how. And best of all, you can do it with a pint in hand…winner takes the pot!
We are welcoming a different brewery every Thursday throughout October to take over the Beer Hall taps for the night and to serve up as many different beers from that brewery as we can. We also invite the brewery to come in to talk about their beers, give you an insight into the brews and often try their more obscure offerings.
Our popular free Engine Room sessions will feature on Fridays throughout the month. The laid back acoustic tones of local artists will provide the background to your night out, and no doubt you'll be singing along too!

On the eve of halloween, Wednesday 30th October, Simon Entwistle will regale the audience with ghostly tales. From local folklore he’ll tell the tale of the Sough Tunnel in Darwen from 1947 and the notorious Devil’s Elbow, Read. Hear of Roman soldiers in the Treasury House, York and the Mackenzie Poltergeist, dubbed as ‘one of the most convincing supernatural cases of all time.’
Throughout October we have some great offers to stay in the beautiful 1823 Spinning Block (next door to the Beer Hall). On Monday’s and Tuesday’s we’ve extended our half price beer and burger offer to include rooms too, plus there’s great value B&B rates for Wednesday’s and Thursday’s should you choose to join us on Quiz nights or for the Tap Takeover events.
