Valentine’s Day is getting closer, and as we all prepare to splash out on a few treats – either alone or with a loved one – we can’t forget the really important day that comes before it, Pancake Day.
This is the perfect chance to hone your pancake flipping skills in preparation for Valentine’s breakfast in bed.
Our pancake recipe is for the perfect fluffy American style pancakes that you can stack and cover with a topping of your choice, of course, you can adapt it with some more liquid to make it runnier for a classic style of pancake. All ingredients are available in Bowland Food Hall and if you’re planning a stay in the Spinning Block Hotel you can have your choice of these for breakfast!
Ingredients to make 12 pancakes
150 Grams of plain flour
1/2 Teaspoon of salt
225 ml of milk (or non-dairy alternative)
1 Egg (Miss this out if you want vegan ones)
Butter or oil for frying
Topping of your choice! We went for classic blueberries and maple syrup combo.
Add all of the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and you’re ready to go!
Use a ladle to scoop it into the pan and remember to keep them small and fluffy so they are perfect to stack up.
Et Voila: Perfect pancakes!
